Mobile phone helps to reduce fear of natural disasters First world-wide Tsunami Alarm System for everybody warns of fatal freak waves

Tübingen, January 10, 2006. Tour operators can now offer their customers a new service to let them go on beach holiday without worries. When travel plans are made, almost half of all European tourists pay attention to the fact whether there is an extra natural disaster risk at their holiday resort. This is according to research carried out by the Gesellschaft für Konsumforschung in their "European Consumer Study 2005". The the report furthermore states that it is the Germans and the Italians who have particularly changed their travel behaviour following the devastating tsunami of December 2004. A recently established service warns tourists and coastal residents by mobile phone if they are threatened by a tsunami. Heindl Internet AG, PhiBlue Mobile Ltd. and 3MFuture Ltd. have developed a safe and fast Tsunami Alarm System which helps to protect human lives.

Ever since the tsunami flood wave did damage in Southeast Asia last year, tourists often consider the important threat of a natural disaster when they plan their holidays. The Gfk Marktforschung survey of 11.500 consumers from nine European countries also showed that at present 48 percent of the holidaymakers deliberately choose regions where the risk of flood waves, earth quakes, hurricanes or floods is as low as possible. Before last year's tsunami stroke the Southeast Asian coast, only every fifth tourist considered these criteria.

According to the survey, Italian and German holidaymakers reacted to the flood catastrophe in a very strong way. The number of tourists who normally choose their holiday resort with regard to the lowest risk has increased in Italy by a factor of three and in Germany, by a factor of one and a half.

In future, travellers and residents will be warned in time of catastrophes like tsunamis, with the unique world-wide tsunami alarm system for everyone. In every reachable place in the world, people can receive a message on their mobile phone in case there is a threat to their lives in places where they are. They only have to register their mobile phone with the Tsunami Alarm System and in the event of an alarm it will send a message that cannot be ignored.

Coastal residents, tourists, business canvassers, employees of companies who work in these areas, like tour guides, can subscribe to the Tsunami Alarm System stating their mobile phone number on the website. The Alarm System is available immediately and nothing has to be installed or be downloaded. It is due to the simple handling that international firms are already interested in equipping their staff with the Tsunami Alarm System.

The Tsunami alarm system was invented and developed by the German scientists Professor Dr. Eduard Heindl, Heindl Internet AG in Tübingen/Germany and Professor Dr. Wolfram Reiners, 3M Future Ltd, Konstanz/Germany. Both are constantly reviewing the quality of the system and are developing it further through their research to the benefit of subscribers. While the research results have been filed for patent protection in Germany, further patents are in preparation.

Customers can subscribe to the tsunami alarm system on the web site www.tsunami-alarm-system.com. The one-year subscription costs only 29,95 Euro. There is also a monthly subscription for holidaymakers available for the price of 9.95 Euro.

About the Tsunami Alarm System:
The idea of a tsunami alarm system arose in December 2004 in the aftermath of the devastating destruction of the Tsunami catastrophe in the Indian Ocean. The German professors Eduard Heindl and Wolfram Reiners wanted to use modern information technology to be able to warn people in time in case of similar occurrences, thus being able to better protect human life in the future. To achieve this, many systems must work together. The technical details of the Tsunami alarm system are filed for patent protection at the German patent office. Tsunami Alarm System is a joint venture between A3M Inc., 3MFuture Ltd. and Heindl Internet AG, under the presidency of Wolfram Reiners and Eduard Heindl.
